Just a quick update on a sunny ( finally ) Sunday. Kate was 4 weeks old last Wednesday and aside from Will’s “crazy eyes,” he has adjusted quite normally – playing Will Vader ( see video below ), cuddling with his mom and baby sister, and generally playing a lot. Kate is also settling into a routine; that is, she sleeps and eats and gets very upset if we don’t tend to her needs in a timely fashion. Unfortunately for us, she decides what a “timely” fashion is and it never seems to match our definition. Oh well… I should have expected as much as the force is strong in Will and Kate…

Last night was Kate’s 1 week “birthday” and so far things are going as well as can be expected. Will has taken to his baby sister better than we could have imagined, insists on accompanying her to all doctor appointments ( and is a bit disappointed when she doesn’t get shots – he apparently is fascinated by this ), and tells her that “everything will be okay – big brother is here.” It’s quite cute, in a teary-eyed parent kinda way.

I also got a chance to put together some video clips from the hospital stay, which you can see in the embedded video. Hope you enjoy!

Words can’t do this justice, so let’s just say this is spinning for spinning’s sake! Be sure to listen to him after he hits the beanbag.

ps. we have no idea what the sound is about 3 seconds in?! Sounds like someone split their pants!

Whether Super Blankie Man is zooming through the universe saving tigers and dogs or Dancing Rex is reinventing the art of human movement, there truly is never a dull moment around our house.

Super Blankie Man first made an appearance a couple of days ago and seemed to have required a thorough testing of his new-found super-powers as he circled the living room/kitchen too many times to count – the room was a flurry of giggling blankie for nearly a half hour.

Meanwhile, Dancing Rex (he named himself) showed up while I was playing guitar and Jessica quickly grabbed the video camera in hopes of capturing his highly-advanced movements. Though a bit demanding at times (ie., “Dad. You sing!”), Dancing Rex was extraordinarily entertaining.

Lord help us if these two happen to meet up. Hopefully it won’t happen until college – at least then his roommates can clean up the mess!

Sing us a song, you’re the piano man

Well, we’re all in the mood for a melody
And you’ve got us feelin’ alright
