Easter 2009 has come and gone, along with multiple marshmallow yellow peeps and assorted jellybeans – most of which were keenly negotiated by a overly-sugared-up 4 year old! Kate had Jessica up at 4am, closely followed by Will at 5am, whose first words were “has the Easter Bunny been here?” Needless to say, Kate was the only one who went back to sleep on Easter morning. Our actual Easter morning itinerary went something like this:
Jess up at 4am, Will up at 5am, baskets and eggs found by 7:15am, first batch of gummy bugs created by 7:45am, Jess back in bed by 8am, Will and Bill watching Star Wars Episode VI by 8:30. HAPPY EASTER!
We have a lot going on in the Unger household this week, so this post will be a short one. Our kitchen is currently under extreme construction, we are leaving in less than two days for Florida, this week has been crazy, and we are all still recovering from Easter sugar highs! Those darn Nerd Jelly Beans are addictive!
I will post more info and pictures in a couple of weeks, but enjoy some Easter goodness in the meantime!
I haven’t progressed much on the room remodeling as we took a week and headed south for Spring Break!!! We stayed at the Siesta Sands Beach Resort on Siesta Key (very near Sarasota) and the weather was beautiful – mid 80’s during the day and mid 60’s at night. We got in some quality beach time (99% pure-quartz sand), lots of pool time (Will’s preference), and saw some very large sea turtles at the Mote Aquarium. The only downside to Spring Break was returning to over a foot of snow… and more is on the way! I guess that’s Northern Michigan for you….
We also had a very enjoyable Easter as Will got to eat his first Jelly Beans and a yellow Peep. He and I even colored eggs and made a quick video, which you can see below!
Happy Belated Easter!
ps. I’m ready for Spring Break 2008… the “Bill Gone Wild” edition!! woo hoo!
Easter weekend was gorgeous in every way: the sun was shining, Will loved being outside, and we were able to spend time with both friends and family.
We spent Saturday morning at a neighborhood Easter egg hunt and though Will didn’t quite get it, he had lots of fun playing in the sand on the nearby beach. The afternoon was spent with the Quinn’s at their beach house, where Will spent lots of time with his buddy CJ. Then Easter Sunday was spent with Grandma and Grandpa Steed. It was a busy, but very fun weekend. Enjoy the pictures and have a great Spring!
