Yesterday was my birthday and I have to say that it was fantastic!  Will “helped” me open presents ( and by “help” I mean that he opened them while I watched ), “helped” me blow out the candles on the cake, and definitely helped me eat the cake!  Jess made my favorite dinner and then I was off to Tennis for a great workout.

ps.  Will helped Jess pick out the cake and it was… wait for it… awesome.

I saw the weather reports late last week and just didn’t believe them.  There was no way that we would actually get any accumulations this early in the season and if we did, certainly the snow would melt within a few hours.  Well… here we are on Monday night, sitting on top of about 2-3 inches of snow with more on the way.  And it’s only November 17.  The real snow doesn’t even start falling for another 6 weeks!  Yet it’s here like Cousin Eddie from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, parking its big ugly RV in front and dumping crap everywhere.  Yet it is still endearing and gets us in the mood for the upcoming holidays, so I guess a person can’t complain too much…  Merry Christmas… Shi##er’s full!

If you haven’t yet heard, Jess is pregnant with our #2! The baby’s due date is March 29, 2009 – the first day of Spring Break!  So while we won’t be enjoying the warm sunny beaches, we will be wrapped in the warmth of our new family.  And to help keep the Spring Break feeling alive, we have affectionately nicknamed the baby “Lido,” as we usually go to Lido Key for Spring Break.

We have already had a few doctor appointments, but today was the big 20-week 3D ultrasound and little Lido was quite cooperative.  After a few minutes of measuring and pointing out the heart, hands, and feet, the ultrasound technician told us we were having a girl!  Jess and I are both very excited and will keep everyone updated…

I jumbled a lot of events into this post, but last week was quite an exciting week!  We picked out pumpkins ( and delicious pumpkin donuts) from Gallaghers Farm Market, carved ‘em up and wore crazy wigs, drove out to Frankfort for our annual trek to Pumpkin Ed’s, and topped it all off with an evening of trick or treating with our neighbors and their children.  Will had quite the haul at the end of the day, so Mom and Dad are set with “left-overs” for a while…  :-)

Happy Halloween!
