The grass is turning green, tulips are finally blooming, the robins are prancing about for worms, and our kitchen is finally complete! It took almost 4 1/2 weeks from the day it was torn apart, but worth every minute of plastic spoons and bowls! We still need to pick out new curtains and lighting fixtures, but at least I can now make my cup of tea without having to fill the cup from the bathroom sink! woo hoo!

We just returned from a very warm and highly enjoyable week at the Limetree Beach resort on Lido Key, near Sarasoata, Florida.
Last year we stayed further south on Siesta Key, but decided to move a bit north to Lido Key and we absolutely loved it. The Limetree is right on the beach and a very comfortable place to stay. The sunset pictures were taken from the balcony near our room, just to give you an idea. The weather was also absolutely fantastic – sunny and 85 every day, though it did rain a bit one evening. The end of the week actually felt like a typical northern Michigan August day, which a very good feeling after nearly 5 months of snow and cold.
Though the week flew by, we managed to get in plenty of sun time, Roger began teaching me to play tennis (wow, am I out of shape), we went out to dinner a few times, and did a little shopping at St. Armands Circle just up the street from our condo.
We returned late Saturday night (about midnight) and were greeted with a nearly completed kitchen (just waiting for countertops and appliances) and 60 degree weather! It was a perfect end to a wonderful week.
Spring Break 2008 — wooo hooo!
