Though Will still mostly refuses to go to the beach, he will quite nearly perform back-flips to go to the farm – and go to the farm we did over Labor Day weekend. The weather was spectacular, Grandma Steed’s garden was in full glory, and the good ‘ol Farmall 450 was in prime cruising form.

One of the amazing things about living in northern Michigan is the diverse land that is so close in any direction. We can drive 20 minutes out to the cabin and feel like we are in the northern woods, massaging our senses with the sweet smells of pine; we can stay right at home and enjoy the wonderful offerings of Traverse City; or drive 20 minutes out to the farm and get a little reminder of my Indiana homeland (corn fields abound down there). You gotta love it!
