What a week we have had! I will start off by apologizing for not posting an update in a few days. It turns out that going back to work and being a dad tend to take up quite a bit more time than I had thought! And to think that Will isn’t even mobile yet and I still don’t have much time?! Quite a few people have told me that I will wonder what I ever did with all of “that time” before Will was born. Well, I am more interested in finding out what happened to all of that time, as it certainly seems there is much less of it in any given day…

So back to our week. Some friends of ours were in town mid-week, so they stopped by with their 2 year old Emma to meet Will and say hello. Katie and Jess have been friends for quite a while and Jason is a good guy, so it was nice to see them (though I was at work and didn’t have the time to break away). For the most part, the rest of week was okay until Friday.

note: Jess wrote the section below and I really liked it, so I am going to use that to explain our “little” ordeal. It is written from Will’s point of view.

I acquired a new nickname yesterday, Wilbur (as in the runt pig from Charlotte’s Web). A nurse came to our house to weigh me and we found out that I have lost more weight since I left the hospital. The nurse told my mom and dad this is not normal, which of course sent them into a fever of worry. After frenzied research online, my dad diagnosed me with Cystic Fibrosis and my mom was sure that she is producing skim milk instead of breast milk. Anyway, not to worry, because I saw the doctor on Saturday and he said I just have high calorie requirements. So, now i get to have a bottle after I nurse!

end note: I thought Jess did a great job summarizing our frenzied period of worrying and I am vowing not to self-diagnose at the first site of trouble. Definately a case of too much information! Anyway… we have been supplementing Will over the weekend and we have another appointment Monday morning to follow-up and make sure he is packing those ounces back on. I will try to update a little more frequently, though I think that “extra time” may be hiding with all of those missing left socks!
